Tropical Rainforest

 

The tropical rainforest is found near Earth's equator.  The world's largest tropical rainforests are in:
  • South America

  • Africa

  • South America

One of the most known tropical forest The Amazon, is located in Brazil, South America. 


                     

Climate

 

Tropical Rainforest are a hot and very moist biome. Although tropical rainforests receive 12 hours of sunlight daily, very little sunlight ever reaches the ground.  So it stays very wet close to the ground.

Temperature:  75 degrees - 80  degrees

Tropical Rainforest Animals

 


Tropical rainforests have the greatest number and variety of animals than any other biome.   Over 15 million kinds of plants and animals live in this biome.

Tropical Rainforest Plants


The tropical rainforest has so many trees that it forms three different layers--the canopy, the understory, and the ground layer. The top layers are giant trees that are very old. The middle layer has big trees and on top of the branches of these trees many small plants attach themselves so they can live. Some of these plants are:
