PURPOSE (OBJECTIVE): Students will explore the life and artistic style of the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and demonstrate abilities of using technology to create self-portraits in the style of Frida Kahlo. |

DESCRIPTION (SUMMARY OF PLAN): After reading with students the book on Frida Kahlo "I Painted My Own Reality," and view visuals of Kahlo's paintings, students will be able recognize basic characteristics of paintings by the artist. With the use of multimedia technologies, students will create a self-portrait, as well as a group presentation that will include a poem with an expression of their portrait along with music by a Mariachi musician. |
