Grade-Level Span: 3-5

PURPOSE (OBJECTIVE):

Students will about Elias Nandino, a Mexican poet, and one of his poems.

DESCRIPTION:

Students will collaborate in groups of five as a team. Students will read some of Elias Nandino's poems. Through the use of the Visual Learning software program Inspiration, they will create a concept map detailing their own conclusions about the meaning of his writings. They will then analyze and synthesize information to be presented to the rest of the class using a presentation program. A rubric will be used by the students to evaluate each team.
