Objective: Students will be able to:

* identify story elements (Title, Author, Setting, Characters, Problem, Events one, two and three and Solution) by using a story map.

* Worksheet (book review)
* Computer with Internet and word processing
Working with words: Students will take a mini-test on sentences, statements, questions, sentences that give order and exclaim.
Activity: The teacher will...
1. begin lesson by reviewing vocabulary words and definitions.
2. administered vocabulary test. (10 minutes)
3. review the events of the story and have a discussion with the class.
4. administered comprehension test. (30 minutes)
5. printout a story map (optional) and the students will work in pairs to complete it using one of the books. (30 minutes)

6. pair up students to complete a book review activity (print out the worksheet and complete it) using one of the books. (30 minutes)
7. allow students to share their responses with another pair.
8. if time permits allow 2-3 pairs to share their responses.
9. have the students go online to Puzzle Maker and create crossword puzzles and word searches using selected vocabulary words from the entire unit.
Evaluation: Students will participate in review, complete assessment, do a story map and book review activity.

* Students will complete a worksheet on "I'm glad I'm me". They are going to write about some things they like about themselves, their families, and their neighborhood.
