Many exciting events are coming up. All of these special events are discussed in detail at our meetings. We hold many fund raisers to benefit the education of our children at P.S. 101. Become involved in P.T.A. We would love to see you at our meetings.

How Parents Can Help Children Learn

1. Help your child get a library card for the public library. Borrow and read library books together.

2. Look through your child's schoolwork with him/her. Let your child tell you about his/her work. Perhaps your child can make a scrapbook at home with samples of his/her best work.

3. Read to your child. Children of all ages enjoy hearing stories.

4. Establish a reading time for your child such as after dinner or before bedtime.

5. Help your child select television shows to watch.

6. Watch a television show together, then discuss/evaluate the show.

7. Teach your child how to make an emergency phone call.

Help you child learn his address and phone number (with area code).

8. Play a board game with your child.

9. Help your child start a collection of rocks, stamps, pressed leaves.

10. Subscribe to a children's magazine for your child.

11. Help your child cook something.

12. Write stories with your child.

13. Take your child to the many museums New York has to offer.
