What is Teachers Network?  Teachers Network is an international, non-profit education organization that has been working for more than 20 years to support, recognize, and connect innovative teachers who exemplify professionalism, independence, and creativity within public school systems.  Our web site, www.teachersnetwork.org , was recently named “Best Educational Portal” by the Association of Educational Publishers.

Any last words for prospective TeachNet candidates?  Join us!  The Internet is a powerful mechanism for disseminating and retrieving information.  It’s a great way to “talk” with colleagues, connect students, join projects, and get ideas from other teachers’ published lesson plans.  TeachNet provides professional development opportunities unavailable elsewhere—including online courses; support from curriculum consultants, technical assistants, editors, and listservs; hands-on workshops on latest software applications; publication online, in newsletters, and in catalogs; award ceremonies and grant checks; and much more!

How can I participate if there is no TeachNet affiliate in my area? All teachers have free access to our complete online database of standards-based curriculum units located at www.teachersnetwork.org/TeachNet.  Try one of these projects in your classroom, and share your experience-- complete the online survey on the teacher's profile page, send a message to his or her individual e-mail,  or contact us through our feedback form at www.teachersnetwork.org/aboutus/feedback
